The island as a whole has over 70 beaches and many can be accessed from the regular bus route between Skiathos Town and Koukounaries. This is the second time i have stayed in Koukanaries and it is as good as i remember the first time i stayed back in 2007. Koukanaries can be as laid back or as lively as you want it to be. There are no nightclubs but Skiathos town is only 20 minutes away. The bars in Koukanaries will stay open as long as you want though! I must give a special mention to the team at Stamelos bar. When i visited in 2007 i gave this bar a wide berth because of the music which was playing.
Part 3 of my journeyman career sees me leave Denmark for my native UK, managing Cardiff City in the Championship. Part 2, if you want read back, here: After a third-place finish and successfully leading Aalborg to a Europa League spot, I thought it was time to seek a new challenge. With FIFA's seemingly endless reel of available jobs, I narrowed it down to a possible three: Kobenhavn; Porto; Cardiff. As I'm trying to play a realistic career mode, I thought it a bit odd that the title-winners, Kobenhavn, would be looking for a new manager (unless, of course, their manager departed to a bigger club after their win). Porto was tempting, as they finished outside of a European spot, but I decided that they would probably seek a more experienced manager. In the end, I settled for Cardiff who finished the previous season in 8th and might be likely to gamble on a young upstart, as Championship clubs sometimes do - I'm thinking Watford recently hiring the Dinamo Tblisi manager. So, I packed my bags, headed to South Wales, and got cracking with the daunting task of leading Cardiff City out of arguably the toughest league in the world to get promoted from.
